While SQS Supastars-the band’s debut album of the same year-was a nod to their televised success, they began gaining far more traction online as SANAM, uploading video covers of classic Bollywood tracks like “Gulabi Aankhen”, which racked up hundreds of millions of views.They were formed as The SQS Project in 2010 by Keshav Dhanraj and brothers Sanam and Samar Puri who came together for TV talent show Times Music Supastars, with childhood friend and bassist Venky S joining for their victorious final.

Taking in classic covers as well as their own fully fledged pop-rock, SANAM are a key part of a new generation of bands with a fondness for traditional sounds that are dominating streaming and viral video.
